Welcome to my website. Through this platform I aim to inspire you to live your best life. We all need inspiration, motivation and information to live a continually healthy lifestyle.

After studying Psychology at the University of Guelph I decided to combine my passion for health and fitness with helping others achieve wellness. In 2001 I became a certified Personal trainer and Nutrition and Wellness Counselor. It wasn’t until I started raising a family that I discovered a love for yoga to help me find balance. In 2008 I graduated from the Georgian College Yoga Teacher Training Program.

In 2011, I opened Sunrise Yoga Studio where I teach classes as well as train and counsel clients. The studio name came about very organically and was inspired by the stunning sunrises on Lake Couchiching in Orillia, Ontario. Summer of 2013, I became certified to teach SUP (Stand Up Paddle) and SUP Yoga lessons. Combining nature and yoga by teaching classes on the water has no doubt been a career highlight. To satisfy my desire to continually evolve and learn, I recently earned a Precision Nutrition certification to better serve and educate clients.

I am fortunate to greet each day with a beautiful sunrise. Aside from the spectacular beauty, I feel a sunrise holds significant meaning by offering us all a fresh start to each day. No matter our past experiences, today is always full of potential.

This is the beauty and challenge of yoga, to live in the present, moment to moment.

I believe that optimal fitness is well rounded and should incorporate elements of strength, endurance and flexibility training as well as proper nutrition. My approach is holistic because while I use a variety of physical conditioning methods to keep programs fresh and clients motivated. I also employ principles of mindfulness and ecological awareness.

I’m always excited to learn, whether it’s new philosophies, training techniques or healthy recipes. I look forward to sharing these here with you.

If you have a healthy recipe, empowering quote, practice tips or news related to Yoga, please contact me through the site and I’ll do my best to post and share.

The modern world is complex and fast paced. Be the change you want to see. Live with love, good intentions and take time to savour the beauty that surrounds us.

Namaste,
